Trials & Tribulations

Wow...have we been thru it the last couple of weeks! Our oldest boy, Louie, tore his ACL in late October. He had surgery mid November. The surgery went very well and he was healing on schedule. But 10 days ago he developed a peculiar "lump" on his side by his rib cage. A vet visit with ultrasound determined he had inhaled a weed seed at some point and it was stuck in his abdomen causing an abscess. A round of strong antibiotics wasn't helping so on Thursday he had emergency surgery. It was so scary! We are so so grateful to our vet at Hillcrest for doing the surgery and saving his life! The infection in his abdomen was severe and it happened quickly! A 2 day stay at the vet and we were able to bring him home this morning. He was so happy to see us and we were more than blessed to bring our boy home! He has been the bravest boy and he has some strong will to get thru these last few weeks. Here's hoping he continues to heal and we have a calm ending to 2025!
